We got a lot of new stuff for you in this 15th episode of Kirby Kosmos. Kirby developers have been busy creating new plugins for you, and there are also some interesting new themes.

On Wednesday, we released Kirby 2.5.5. It fixes some bugs and comes with some small enhancements. Check out the changelog for details.

Kirby 3 is moving forward at a fast pace. If you are eager to peek behind the curtain and take your chance to bring in your own ideas and feedback, you can still hop on.

Fresh Kirby Plugins

  • Kirby Relationship is a kind of sortable multi-select field. It allows you to select multiple items from a list and sort them manually. Created by Ola Christensson (free).

  • Lukas Kleinschmidt's Kirby File types plugin allows you to limit file selection to certain types, like images or documents (free).

  • The Kirby Anchor Headings plugin by Dennis Kerzig provides a field method that enumerates heading-elements, generates IDs for anchor-links and inserts custom markup based on your options (free, pre-release).

  • Jon Gacnik built the Kirby Index Field that shows pages in the Panel as a sortable and filterable datatable. Ideal for working with larger page sets (free). Works well with the Hidebar field by the same developer.

  • The Ecwid shopping cart plugin lets you to add an online store and checkout to your website. Requires an Ecwid account (plugin free).

Kirby Themes

If you want to get your website online fast, prebuilt themes are a good alternative to creating your own design. There are quite a few new Kirby themes available on [getkirby-themes.com]. Check them out! Here are some recent additions:

  • Send is a Firefox Test Pilot that allows you to send files up to 1 GB to another person. In private, encrypted, self-destroying.


  • Animation at Work is a new book by Rachel Nabors in the A Book Apart series. It explores how to use animation to you to ease cognitive load and to design better user experiences.



Speed matters is a small PDF e-book full of tips on improving the speed on mobile websites and about why it matters.

As its name implies, CSS grid highlighter is a Chrome extension that highlights CSS grid patterns on websites.
