Frequently asked questions
What do I get?
A Kirby license allows you to run a single installation on a single domain. Kirby is a self-hosted CMS. You have to bring your own hosting and domain on which you will run Kirby. The license is a one-time payment, there is no subscription, no yearly or monthly fees. See the license terms.
Can I try it first?
Yes. It's important for us that you are confident with your choice before you purchase a license. There are two ways to try Kirby: Explore our online demo, created instantly for you. Or install Kirby locally or on a test server and take it for a ride. Once your project is ready, buy a license and you're set for launch.
Can I run additional websites with a single license?
No. A license is valid for a single Kirby installation, running on a single domain. If you plan to add additional installations (i.e. under additional subdomains or subfolders) you need to purchase licenses for each of those installations.
What about updates?
Minor updates of Kirby (e.g. 3.1 to 3.2) will be free. Users with an older license will get a discount for major upgrades (e.g. 3.x to 4.0).
If you are still on v2, we offer attractive prices for all owners of a Kirby 2 license to upgrade to v3. Upgrade your v2 license now.
How can I pay for a license?
Paddle currently supports all major credit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay and Purchase Order.
Will I get a proper invoice?
All sales are handled by Paddle. You will get an invoice from them. They are specialized in managing purchases including tax collection and invoicing for each country. You can customize your invoice yourself to fit your requirements.
