WACKU is a digital agency in Hamburg, founded in 2012 by Joe Tonne – startup founder with Silicon Valley experience, former CDO and mentor at Google for Startups. That is why we start with your business, not with a template. What should the website achieve: bookings, leads, sales or job applications? Then we build Kirby around that goal.

We connect Kirby to the systems you already use: booking engines, CRMs, online shops, newsletter tools and internal data. Recent projects include hotel websites linked to their booking engine, a property portal fed directly from the CRM/PMS, a ham manufactory with its own online shop, a canned food brand founded in 1899 and a recruiting portal for a hospitality group.

Speed matters to us on every project. We build for PageSpeed and Core Web Vitals from the very first template. Fast websites rank higher, convert better and lower your ad costs. Joe is also an ambassador for Speed Kit.

Our work continues after launch. Together with a small network of trusted developers and specialists, we set up GA4, Tag Manager and Consent Mode v2, run your Google Ads and write your newsletter. So you always know what your website brings in – and no tracking gets lost in the next relaunch.

We also join existing projects. We review Kirby code and security, help bring delayed projects back on track and assess platforms for due diligence. If you build in-house, we support you with scoping, project management and team setup.

Privacy is part of every project: data processing agreements, hosting in the EU, cookie consent for embedded content and spam protection without reCAPTCHA. And your editors get a Panel they actually enjoy using.

We work with start-ups and long-established family businesses, mainly in hospitality, real estate, food and e-commerce.
